Position Overview
The Middle School Math Learning Specialist supports students, teachers, and families in building mathematical understanding, confidence, and achievement. This role involves providing targeted interventions, collaborating with teachers to enhance instruction, and developing strategies to support diverse learning needs.
Responsibilities
Provide direct student support through small-group instruction, one-on-one interventions, and in-class assistance.
Collaborate with math teachers to develop and implement differentiated instructional strategies and interventions.
Assess student learning needs and progress using formal and informal assessments.
Teach a Learning Support class focused on executive functioning skills and targeted academic support across core subjects.
Develop and maintain student learning profiles based on formal assessments.
Support faculty in differentiating instruction to meet the needs of students with varied learning strengths and specific learning challenges.
Provide professional development on effective math teaching strategies and topics related to neurodiversity.
Communicate regularly with families about student progress and strategies for reinforcement at home.
Participate in grade-level and student support team meetings to discuss student needs and develop action plans.
Serve as a Middle School advisor.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Mathematics, Education, Special Education, or a related field
Certification in math education, special education, or a related field preferred
Experience working with middle school students in a math teaching or support role.
Knowledge of learning differences, neurodiversity, and effective intervention methods.
Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Training in multisensory math instruction or other specialized intervention approaches is a plus.

Salaries are determined based on a scale reflecting years of teaching experience and level of education.
