Lower School Science Teachers (Grades 2-4) Leave Replacement
The Packer Collegiate Institute seeks a passionate, experienced, and knowledgeable science teacher for Grades 2-4 to teach full-time in our Lower School division from the start of the 2025 school year until December 1, 2025.
Anticipated start date: August 2025
Through extensive collaboration, Packer’s two Pre and Lower School science teachers connect student learning in the science lab to the world around them. Using a child-centered, inquiry-based, and hands-on model, the teachers design relevant, stimulating, and challenging investigations that develop student skills and ability to problem solve, work collaboratively, and think critically. Packer’s Lower School science program emphasizes the development of scientific literacy and depth of understanding rather than the accumulation of scientific facts.
Ideal candidates must have a collaborative spirit, strong understanding of child development and scientific concepts, and excellent communication skills.
Requirements include:
Master's degree in Early Childhood, Elementary, or Science Education
Minimum of three years of experience teaching young students
Passion for developing a love of science in young children
