Head of Innovation and Technology
The Head of Innovation and Technology (HIT) is responsible for the overall vision, development and deployment of Packer’s technology platform, reporting directly to the Chief Financial and Operating Officer. The HIT is responsible for resourcing and structuring the Operational and Academic functions within the IT department, interfacing across Packer to optimize the use of information technology solutions and resources, and spearheading the encouragement of technology literacy for all employees.

Job Responsibilities
Develop a holistic IT strategy to address Packer’s current and future needs.
Work closely with senior academic leaders to drive all aspects of technology integration in the classroom and academic community
Work closely with senior administrative leaders to ensure the most efficient and effective use of technology with regards to finance, facilities, admissions, development, communications and HR.
Ensure that resources and infrastructure for supporting effective use of technology for learning are sufficient and scalable to meet future demand.
Supervision includes Director of Technology, Director of Academic IT/Computer Science and 10 team members; consider and adjust internal reporting lines as necessary to ensure alignment
Mentor and inspire team members towards excellence and service to all community members
Lead the development of tech-related professional development opportunities for all employees
Integrate stakeholder feedback to align IT strategy with stakeholder goals and the support needs of teachers and administrators.
Oversee the management of third party Administrative IT vendors and relationships.
Develop and deploy the necessary metrics, including critical success factors and key performance indicators, to monitor and ensure proper IT operations.
Job Requirements
Proven experience as a senior Technology Officer in an educational institution. Prior consulting experience is highly desirable
Deep understanding of the Information Technology ecosystem, trends, and best practices
Demonstrated competency in tech integration in the classroom and school environment
Demonstrated competency in technology research and business analysis.
Working knowledge of cybersecurity and risk management concepts.
Excellent leadership, communications, and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated competency in decision making and conflict resolution.
Demonstrated competency in strategic planning and business management, including budgets and project planning.
Advanced degree in relevant area of study required.

Salaries are determined based on a scale reflecting years of teaching experience and level of education.
