Part-Time Upper School Biology Teacher (one-year leave replacement)
Start date: September 2025
The Packer Collegiate Institute seeks an energetic individual to teach part-time (50%) Upper School Biology. Candidates should have a strong and diverse background in science and mathematics, at least three years previous experience teaching Biology at the secondary level, and enthusiasm for working with high school students. The focus of the science department is on interactive, experiential learning and depth of understanding rather than breadth of coverage.
Responsibilities
Teaching two biology classes
Part of a strong, collaborative team
Dedicated to the vertical integration of curriculum across grades and divisions
Committed to using the city as an educational resource
Significant written and oral communication with families about student work and progress
Sustained, individualized attention to students outside of the classroom
Qualifications
Minimum of three years high school science teaching experience
Strong background in biology
Commitment to work as part of a collaborative team that prepares students with the skills, critical thinking abilities and content knowledge to enter a rigorous high school science program.
Master’s degree is strongly preferred.

Salaries are determined based on a scale reflecting years of teaching experience and level of education.
