Upper School English Teacher
The Packer Collegiate Institute invites applicants interested in teaching full-time Upper School English.

Responsibilities
This position entails teaching four sections of Upper School English and advising a small group of Upper School students. Courses are designed around clearly defined skills and standards that guide curriculum planning, instruction, assessment, and feedback. The teacher collaborates closely with other English teachers to ensure coherence, alignment, and progression of skills across the program.
Teaching at Packer emphasizes skill development in reading, writing, analyzing, communicating and reflecting. Faculty use shared standards to articulate learning goals, support student growth, and communicate progress to students and families.

Applicants should possess
Experience designing and teaching courses grounded in skills and standards-based learning
Comfort with frequent use of educational technologies in the classroom and facility with electronic communication and learning management systems
A commitment to anti-bias and anti-racism work and to promoting an inclusive, just, and equitable school community
Experience with a broad range of instructional and assessment practices
Exceptional writing skills
Demonstrated commitment to reflective practice and ongoing professional growth
Comfort with and interest in working with students in an advisory role
At least three years of Upper School English teaching experience
A master’s degree (preferred)

Salary: Salaries follow a scale based on years of teaching experience and level of education.
