Middle School Mathematics Teacher (Leave Replacement)
The Packer Collegiate Institute invites candidates to apply for a full-time position in the Middle School Math Department for the first semester of the 2026–27 academic year.
Dates: August 26, 2026 - January 29, 2027
Responsibilities:
This position includes teaching four sections of 7th and/or 8th grade math and advising a small group of Middle School students. The role involves close collaboration with fellow math teachers and the grade-level advising team.
Packer’s work with students and families requires strong written and verbal communication about student progress, as well as a commitment to providing individualized support beyond the classroom. We seek educators who are eager to engage with complex ideas, reflect on their own practice, and support students’ identities and diverse backgrounds.
Applicants should possess:
At least three years of math teaching experience, including at least two years at the middle school level
Experience with and interest in inquiry-based, student-centered instruction
A commitment to anti-bias work and fostering an inclusive, equitable school community
Demonstrated ability to develop and refine curriculum for a diverse group of learners
A strong commitment to collaboration with colleagues
Dedication to excellent teaching, the use of best practices in math education, and ongoing professional growth
Understanding of the cognitive, social, and emotional development of middle school learners
Interest in and comfort with serving as an advisor
A Master’s degree (preferred, not required)
